SEARCH AND RESCUE CHALLENGE
One of two members of your organisation have had to evacuate the plane they were travelling in, they are somewhere in the bush. Can your team take it upon themselves to rescue them?
Your team will be taught the following skills:
Abseiling Tensioning, Search and Rescue techniques, Map reading and Prussiking
The skills training will take 90 minutes to complete.
Your group is broken down into sub groups and taught one of the above skills
The map-readers lead the way through the bush in order to get to the vacinity of the parachutists.
Map reading is one of the lesser physically exerting activities
Search and rescue organises and implements the search procedures.
Specialised techniques learnt in the morning are used in order to search for people in thick bush.
Prussikers, abseilers and tensioners take on the challenge of the rescue.
Each search and rescue will involve 30-metre cliff faces and both horizontal and vertical rope work.
The search and rescue challenge will be tailored in order to suit your particular organisation.
The search and rescue challenge can be used as a fun day out or as a framework to bring out specific outcomes.
